Faculty Advisor: Sally McNay, RN, MSN President: Nathaniel Adams  I am currently in 4th semester.
For CNSA, I work hard to ensure that all functions involving CNSA run efficiently to promote a positive image of nursing leadership on campus as well as in our community. This semester, my goals are to extend CNSA membership to pre-nursing students and oversee all CNSA activities, making sure all functions are completed to the best of our abilities within CNSA. I am interested in rehabilitation nursing with an emphasis in brain/spinal cord injury. I am also fascinated with psychiatric nursing. My goal is to become a nursing care administrator in rehabilitation or psychiatric nursing. My hobbies include running, cooking (as time permits), playing with my cat Mr. Fluffy Tail, sewing, and reading celebrity gossip magazine. My favorite quote is "If I accept you as you are, I will make you worse; however if I treat you as though you are what you are capable of becoming, I help you become that" by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe. Vice President: Jennifer Russell  I am currently in 3rd semester.
My areas of interest include OB and pediatrics. My goals are to continue on in school to get my MSN. I am looking at also becoming an instructor. Whenever possible, I like to hang out with my family, read novels, watch movies, go dancing with friends, and play soccer. Secretary: Jane Fuller  I am currently in 3rd semester.
I am responsible for recording the minutes in our CNSA meeetings. This semester, my goals are to increase student participation in CNSA, be a good role model, and encourage the leader in all of us. I am interested in opposite ends of the spectrum: obstetrics and geriatrics. My goal is to get my RN and then possibly pursue a higher education. My hobbies include spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and crafts. My favorite quote is "Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habit. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." Treasurer: Ryan Tamula  I am currently in 2nd semester.
My role in CNSA this semester is to manage and keep records of the financial aspects of CNSA and their activities. This semester, my goal is to instill more class unity within my class. I am very interested in serving as a nursing officer in the military. My goal is to become a naval officer in the nursing corps. My hobbies include water polo, surfing, and any outdoor activities. My favorite quote is "Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing" by Theodore Roosevelt. Breakthrough to Nursing Co-Representative: Vanessa Monroy  I am currently in 3rd semester.
This semester, I want to become a lot more involved in CNSA and to motivate other people to get involved. I am interested in Critical Care Nursing and my department of choice is the Emergency Room. My goal is to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. My hobbies include traveling, hiking, sailing, watching movies, having dinner with friends, volunteering, and shopping. My favorite quote is "Nothing less than absolute success!!" Breakthrough to Nursing Co-Representative: Ana Varela  I am currently in 3rd semester.
I am interested in Oncology, Pediatrics, and L&D. My goals are to complete the Cypress RN program and get specialized once I know where my strengths are. Whenever possible, I like to spend time with my kids, family, and friends. Fundraising & Scholarships: Lynnda Laufer  I am currently in 3rd semester.
This semester, I want to improve my clicnical skills and enhance my time management skills. My goal is to complete nursing school and get a job. My hobbies include scrapbooking and ceramics. My favorite quote is "The car you drive has a large windshield, but only a relatively small rearview mirror" by Joel Osteen. To me, this means that what happened in your past is not nearly as important as what is in your future. Vital Signs Newsletter Editor: Bobby Winters  I am currently in 3rd semester.
My role in CNSA is to design and maintain branding and content of the Vital Signs newsletter. This semester, I want to encourage the participation of up-and-coming nursing students with CNSA and increase my clinical proficiency during work-study and clinical rotations. My areas of interest include: Critical care nursing, research, transgender-related healthcare, diabetes, nursing education, and pathophysiology. My goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner. My hobbies include scuba diving, LEGOs, and singing. My favorite quote is "Receive the fugitive, and prepare in time an asylum for mankind" by Thomas Paine. Webmaster: Nerissa Black  I am currently in 3rd semester.
My role in CNSA this semester is to maintain and update the website as neeeded. In addition, I would like to add biographies of Board Members to the website. My areas of interest include OR, OB/maternity, and pediatrics. My goal is to obtain as much experience as I can, get my MSN, and eventually teach future nurses. Whenever possible, I like to spend time with my family, cook, work on puzzles, and play with yarn. My favorite quote is "Time flies like an arrow. Fluit flies like a banana." Student Faculty Co-Representative: Heather Foy  I am currently in 3rd semester.
My role in CNSA this semester is to serve as a liaison between the RN Student Body and the faculty. This semester, I want to try to fit in some exercise. My areas of interest include Trauma, ER, and the OR. My goal is to become a Trauma Nurse and get my Nurse Practitioner degree. I enjoy spending time with my family (husband, son, and daughter), wakeboarding, and watching sports. My favorite quote is "Just do it" by Nike. Student Faculty Co-Representative: Mike Ruffalo  I am currently in 3rd semester.
Class Representative, 1st Semester: Candace Belk  I am currently in 1st semester.
This semester, I want make sure I pass! I want to learn all that I can learn. I want to get involved in every possible way and take advantage of all I can. I want to enjoy this new adventure in my life! My areas of interest include Travel Nursing and world missions work. My goal is to go on to get my Master's degree, travel, help people, and have fun at the same time. My hobbies include surfing, camping, kayaking, fishing, shopping, traveling, and photography, among many other things. My favorite quote is "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them" by Walt Disney. Class Representative, 2nd Semester: Cindy Gandara  I am currently in 2nd semester.
This semester, my goals are: to have the opportunity to do the skills I have previously learned and practiced in clinical, to manage my time better, and to become more organized. My areas of interest include pediatrics, labor, and delivery. My goal is to graduate from the Cypress College Nursing Program in May 2011 and go on to get my Master's of Science in Nursing. I like going to the movies, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports. My favorite quote is "The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand" by Vince Lombardi. Class Co-Representative, 3rd Semester: Kathy Kong  I am currently in 3rd semester.
As a Class Representative, I want to get more involved with CNSA. I am interested in oncology and women's health. My goal is to become a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. My hobbies include swimming, traveling, and going out to see musicals, plays, basketball games, and football games. My favorite quotes are "Study hard, party harder" and "Treat others as you want to be treated." Class Co-Representative, 3rd Semester: Jessica Marshall  I am currently in 3rd semester.
This semester, I want to increase my time management and organization skills. I am interested in pediatrics and oncology. My goal is to obtain my MSN and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. My hobbies include reading, watching movies, and traveling. My favorite quote is "Our truest life is when we are in our dreams awake" by Henry David Thoreau. My role in CNSA this semester is to serve as a liaison between the 4th semester class and the student body and faculty. In addition, I help maintain the CNSA website. This semester, my goals are to increase student participation in CNSA and to become more proactive in representing CNSA in the Cypress College Student Body. I am interested in Nursing Education with clinical specialty in Critical Care Nursing. My goal is to become a Nursing Professor. My hobbies include reading journals, watching Grey's Anatomy, blogging, movies, and photography.
