  •    Antionette Dorothy Berkel $2500 : community service
  •    Eileen Welch Memorial Nursing Scholarship $1,000 : non traditional age
  •    Elizabeth Cavaner Memorial Nursing Scholarship $300
  •    Helen Crilly Nursing Scholarship $1000 : GPA, demonstration of Christian values, community service, financial need
  • Eligibility requirements:
  •    A 1-2 page essay describing your qualifications for the scholarship(s) for which you are applying
  •    2-3 letters from unrelated references with whom you have a professional or academic relationship, in envelopes with reference signature over the seal
  •    Your most recent official transcript
  •    A tax return from the previous year (only for scholarships dependent upon financial need)

  • Deadline: April 2, 2011
  • Eligibility requirements:
  •    Letter from nursing school which includes scholastic standing (transcript or grades), character rating, and recommendation for continuance of schooling
  •    Letter signed by parent, guardian or applicant (if not a minor) describing financial circumstances of family, to set forth need for assistance

  • Deadline: August 12, 2011
  • Eligibility requirements:
  • Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing in California;
  • Current NSNA membership (must be valid through October 17, 2011);
  • Essay submission (worth 50% of the total score);
  • Overall college GPA of 3.0 or greater;
  • Evidence of involvement in CNSA, NSNA, and/or chapter activities;
  • Two current supporting letters of reference.
  • Must be present at the 2011 CNSA Annual Convention.

    Every year the Placentia-Linda Hospital Guild offers scholarships to students who plan medically oriented careers. Check the hospital website after the beginning of 2011 for details. Applications can be picked up at the hospital.

    American Association of Colleges of Nursing financial aid resources
    American Association of Colleges of Nursing: The following website lists many sources for financial aid for nursing students. Included are specific sources for graduate, post-graduate, minority students, male students, and students going into nursing education. There is also information about loan repayment and forgiveness programs.


    HRSA Nursing scholarship
    The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration provides scholarships to selected students in exchange for a 2-year commitment at certain types of health care facilities. You can sign up to be notified by email when the 2011 application cycle opens.

    PEO sisterhood scholarships
    The PEO Sisterhood is a philanthropic organization that provides scholarships to women.
